“My Lodge Dutch oven for baking sourdough bread and my Ooni pizza oven, not only for cooking pizza but steaks, potatoes etc. I also love my little electric whisk for the ultimate hot chocolate (boozy ones for adults). Spices, marshmallows, biscuits, you name it, it all gets throw in the mix!”

“I love my Magimix, mini tongs and pastry scraper!”

“I don’t go in for electrical gadgets very much, more those simple things like a plastic spatula or a Microplane grater. A plastic spatula you can use for everything. You can fold in with it, it’s heatproof so you can use it for stir-fries, or plating beautiful purées, a whole range of things. There is a type with slightly more of a spoon shape that I really like; they’re really good for presentation. Microplane graters are really sharp, they will cut through anything. They’re all-rounders, great for ginger, which is difficult on any other grater, for lemon zest, orange zest, and Parmesan. The blade is exceptionally sharp if you get the branded one. They’re really good and they last.”

“I won’t say my coffee machine even though it’s the thing I use every day! Obviously, I take my knife, my Japanese “do everything knife” when I go away. I take at least one knife when I go to an Airbnb as you never know what you’re going to get in a rental kitchen and I know I’ll always end up cooking. I always take my Microplane on holiday. I can’t go to an Airbnb without the Microplane!”
